Area is what is inside an object and is measured in square units. The surface area included within any given lines, as the area of a square or a triangle.

The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying the length by the width, and the area of a triangle is found by multiplying 1/2 the base times the height.

There are other formulas for determining the areas of different shapes like cubes (l x w x h = area) and circles (2 (3.14 x r²) = area).
